The South African Airways (SAA) Business Rescue Practitioners (BRPs) confirm that a further extension for publication of the Plan from 28 February to 31 March 2022 has been approved by the requisite majority of creditors holding voting interests in the company.

The practitioners and SAA are in the process of finalisation of the proposed restructuring plan and the steps required to implement restructuring. The employees committee, creditors committee and the Department of Public Enterprises will be provided with an opportunity to make representations to the practitioners regarding the draft Business Rescue Plan and to consult the practitioners. After the practitioners have considered (the aforesaid representations) the Business Rescue Plan will be published by the practitioners and will be voted upon by creditors at a meeting convened for this purpose.

Further to the changes to South African Airway’s network announced on 06th February and the commercial rebooking policy published on 14th February, SAA has also extended the rebooking deadline for customers impacted by the route cancellations. The deadline to which tickets must be re-issued has been extended from 29th February 2020 to 15th March 2020.

SAA will continue to operate its international services between Johannesburg and London Heathrow, Frankfurt, New York, Perth and Washington via Accra plus selected African regional and domestic services.
