The perfect geographical location of our Johannesburg hub allows customers to use the best connections to get to their destinations. The airport which is also called O.R. Tambo International Airport provides the highest standards: a modern infrastructure, short distances, self-service check-in kiosks, a broad selection of culinary delights and an attractive duty-free area with African souvenir shops.
Passengers who have booked a domestic (South African) transfer flight have to collect their luggage in Johannesburg. SAA's drop-off desks are located directly after customs control on the left, just before entering the arrivals hall; passengers can drop off their luggage here for domestic flights without having to check in again. If the travel destination is not in South Africa, then the luggage does not need to be collected as it will be checked through to the destination airport.
