They will need to enter their Surname and either the SAA PNR reference or Electronic Ticket Number.
Check-in for domestic flights closes 30 minutes prior to flight departure in Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and East London. Effective 01 April 2022 all domestic flights departing from OR Tambo International Airport will close 40 minutes prior to departure.
Check-in for regional and international flights closes 50 minutes prior to flight departure for all travel classes.
Check-in for flights from Johannesburg to Luanda, Lagos and Kinshasa, Sao Paulo closes 1 hour prior to flight departure.
Check-in for flights departing from Lagos closes 2 hours prior to flight departure.

The recommended check-in time is between 1 1/2 hours and 2 hours prior to departure.
Check-in is closed for check-in and acceptance of baggage 40 minutes prior to departure.
Boarding for all flights begins at least 45 minutes before the scheduled time of departure, with gates closing 15 minutes prior to departure on domestic flights, and 20 minutes for international flights.
Passengers who fail to present themselves at the boarding gate before the stipulated time for closure will be denied travel without compensation.
